Platteville Community Fund accepting grant applications

The Platteville Community Fund is now accepting grant applications for its fall grant cycle. The application deadline is September 15, 2014. Applications must be completed online and submitted online no later than 4 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014. Mailed, emailed or faxed copies of applications and/or incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

In making the grant application announcement, Platteville Community Fund advisory board chair Nathan Curry noted, “We are extremely pleased that the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin has implemented a user-friendly online grant application. Grant applicants will no longer be required to mail copies of grant applications to an office in Janesville. The information requested in the online application mirrors that which was requested in the prior application. Lindsey Hulstrom, CFSW grants and scholarship manager, will be available via phone (608-758-0883) or email (lindsey@cfsw.org) to answer questions and assist with online grant completion.”

The Platteville Community Fund seeks projects or programs that address current community needs in the areas of arts, education, environment, historic preservation, and health and human services. Projects or programs provided by charitable non-profits that serve the people within the Platteville School District are eligible for consideration. Requests from individuals are not eligible. The PCF Advisory Board is particularly interested in projects that support initiatives in sustainability, community access, events and activities that promote the arts and diversity and innovative ideas for children and families.

Since 2005 the Platteville Community Fund has awarded over 140 grants totaling just over $256,000. During this fall 2014 grant period, inaugural awards will be made from the Carmen and Eva Beining Community Fund as well as from the Platteville Community Fund Endowment, the Robert and Marian Graham Community Fund, and the Schneller-Tang Charitable Endowment.

The application form is available online at the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin website (www.cfsw.org). Select the “Grants” tab and then “Open Grant Applications.” Completed applications must be submitted online no later than 4p.m., Monday, September 15, 2014.
